The General Secretariat of the European Economic Community Issued a formal communique here yesterday following the meeting of the Council of Ministers, formally announcing approval of trade agreement between the Euromart countries and Israel which was concluded last month.
The trade agreement, which will come into effect on July 1 for a period of three years, provides for the suspension of common customs duties on a number of products. The pact, which will be formally signed later this month, contains a provision for extension for a fourth year and will be renewable by agreement of the contracting parties.
(In Damascus, the Syrian Ministry convened the representatives of West Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, and Holland and warned them against the pact with Israel. )
