Europe without Jews would be a cake without taste, is the opinion of Karin Michaelis, the famous Danish writer.
Madam Michaelis, who is on a visit here, dwelt at length on this subject in a press interview.
“Europe without Jews would lose much. The ennobling and deep Jewish turn is the characteristic of many of the great spirits of Europe. Perhaps they also have Jewish blood. I think, therefore, that an exodus of Jews from Europe would be highly undesirable.
“At the same time, however, I am of the opinion that Zionism spells the re-generation of a part of humanity. The next generation of Palestine Jews, born and reared on the soil of the Homeland, will produce a Jewish generation which will have all of its virtues and none of its faults. I intend to go to Palestine next year for the purpose of studying the transformation of the Jewish woman on the soil there.
