European countries are resisting efforts to gather information on suspected Nazis and their collaborators, a leading Nazi hunter charged. The Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Efraim Zuroff said this week that several countries have failed to come forward to help the center’s Operation Last Chance program, which offers rewards in several Central and Eastern European countries for information on suspected war criminals.
