Cooperation between Arabs and Jews is urged in a letter signed by 21 prominent European personalities, including former French Premier Pierre Flandin, published today by the Daily Telegraph. The signatories are members of the Committee for the Defence of Jews’ Rights in East and Central Europe.
The letter contends that the Arabs have benefited by Jewish immigration and holds that Arab-Jewish discontent would disappear if the labor market were made accessible to all.
Declaring Arab aspirations have been fulfilled, the letter states the time has come to carry out the agreement entered into by Dr. Chaim Weizmann, president of the World Zionist Organization, and the late King Feisal of Syria. It concludes with the recommendation that the Transjordan and other Arab countries be opened to Jewish immigration.
