Reuters on Thursday quoted an Israeli official as saying that Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, who plans to uproot 17 of the 21 Jewish settlements in Gaza as part of his plan to disengage unilaterally from the Palestinians, wants international custodians to take over the buildings and farmland left behind.
