Every boy and girl in Israel between the ages of 13 and 16 should be required to learn a trade in industry or farming, and the compulsory school age should be extended to 16 now, Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion declared today in Parliament. Replying to debate on the Prime Minister’s Office budget, the Prime Minister said that education was the second most urgent national problem after security. He said the utmost effort must be made in Israel and by world Jewry to meet the educational needs of Israels new generation.
