Israeli Ambassador Ephraim Evron left last Friday for Israel, ending a three-year stint in the post. Evron paid a farewell call on President Reagan Thursday and the President expressed his sorrow at the envoy’s departure.
The two discussed various issues between Israel and the United States, according to a spokesman for the Israel Embassy here. Evron also met with National Security Advisor William Clark; Sen. Charles Percy (R. III.) chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee; and with Senate Majority Leader Howard Baker, (R. Tenn.). Before his departure, he saw Vice President George Bush.
Evron’s successor, Moshe Arens, is expected to arrive in Washington in mid-February.
