Sir Michael McDonnell, former Chief Justice of Palestine, warned today in an article in the anti-Semitic weekly Patriot that if Palestine became “a dumping heap for unwanted Jews, ” Moslem countries would begin expelling their Jews and use methods which would make Hitler’s appear kid-gloved.

The article, unprecedented for a former member of the British administration, charged that the Palestine authorities, Colonial Secretaries and Colonial Office officials since the Balfour Declaration were obsessed with a fear of Parliamentary questions on measures unfavorable to the Jews, and also that the military authorities in Palestine were afraid of War Minister Leslie Hore-Belisha, Members of Parliament afraid of the Jewish electorate and the press of losing advertisements from “Jewish-controlled agencies.” Sir Michael predicted that the alleged pressure would be increased by the “influx” of Jewish refugees into England.
