Condemning his meddling in Palestine affairs, the American veterans of the Jewish Legion, a Jewish army corps that fought with Lord Allenby in the conquest of the Holy Land during the World War, have sent a telegram to Dr. Judah Magnes, chancellor of the Hebrew University, in Jerusalem, demanding his resignation and terming his actions as treason to the most sacred Jewish ideals.

The telegram released today through the Jewish Telegraphic Agency reads. “A general meeting of ex-Legionnaires held in New York yesterday condemns your tactless, unauthorized meddling in Palestine affairs. We consider your dangerous propaganda of surrender as treason to the most sacred Jewish ideals during the entire Exile. Your stand endangers the existence of the University. We demand your resignation. Your place is not in Palestine.”
