Members of the exiled Palestine Arab High Committee disclosed today that Iraq had officially advised London of acceptance of the proposals contained in the British White Paper by the ex-Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin el Husseini, who is now in Iraq.
(The Egyptian Premier last week announced that he had received letters indicating Husseini’s acceptance of the British plan, involving establishment of an independent Palestine state, and added that negotiations were afoot to grant amnesty for the Palestine Arabs now in exile or in prison, according to a Cairo dispatch to The Times of London.)
The Arab leaders told a Havas News Agency correspondent that the proposals were made to the various independent Arab governments of the Near East. The Egyptian and Ir Governments approved them after ascertaining that the ex-Mufti and the Arab High Commit found them a satisfactory basis for agreement, it was said.
