Efraim Margalit, former director of the Paris office of Keren Hayesod, the financial arm of the World Zionist Organization, went on trial in District Court here today on charges of embezzling $170, 000 of the organization’s funds. Before Judge Benjamin Halevi, District Attorney Ezra Hedya enumerated 76 separate charges involving alleged embezzlement and mishandling of funds between 1954 and 1961.
