Excerpts from Mendelsohn’s Oratorio Elijah will be sung by the “Y” Singing Society at its Spring concert in the Jewish Community Centre on Sunday night. This work was recently barred in Hitler Germany, and is being sung for the first time in Yiddish by the chorus. Moshe Rudinow, cantor of the New York Temple Emanuel, and Ruth Eliash, also of New York, will be the soloists of the evening.
