The establishment of a 20, 000 pound trust fund for travelling fellowships to be exchanged between British and Israeli students was announced here last night at a dinner sponsored by the British Friends of the Hebrew University.
The trust fund has been established by John Goodenday, philanthropist, who, guarantees that if the income from the capital does not reach 1,000 pounds annually he will make up the difference. The fund has been named in his honor and grants will be made either to graduates of the Hebrew University who wish to continue their studies in England; or to British, university graduates who wish to do research work in Israel. Prof. Norman Bentwich has been named chairman of the board of trustees of the fund.
