An exhibit commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Touro Synagogue in Newport, R.I., was opened here today by B’nai B’rith. Senator Claiborne Pell, Rhode Island Democrat, was guest speaker at the opening ceremonies which were also attended by Rabbi Theodore Lewis of Newport, Morris Morgenstern of New York and Maurice Bisgyer, executive vice-president of B’nai B’rith. The exhibit features more than 60 objects depicting the pre-Revolutionary War activities of Touro Synagogues founding members.
