The exhibition of Palestine paintings by Elias Newman was held at the ## 127 Riverside Drive. Isadore J. Lapson Chairman of the Exhibition Committee, presided at the opening last Saturday. An address was delivered by Commissioner Louis Harris on the “Appeal of Palestine Art an American Youth.”
The exhibition consisted of twenty oils and fifteen water colors of Palestine scenes. Newman, who received his training in this city, recently returned to America from Palestine where he gave three exhibitions last winter. Among those present at the opening were Jacob Epstein, and Boris Artisfeld Russian partner.
The exhibition was given under the auspices of the Council of Jewish Youth Organizations.
