Frankfurt am Main, once one of the richest cities in Germany, today is facing impoverishment owing to the forced departure of the Jews as a consequence of the Hitlerite policy, a dispatch to Reuters, English news agency, from its German correspondent declared.
An official statement issued by the municipal government of the city discloses that an average of forty Jewish firms have closed their doors each month since January of this year.
In June, 1934, 102 Jewish firms liquidated their affairs and the heads of the firms left the city permanently. At the same time all the Jewish banks in the city were forced out of existence owing to the anti-Semitic policies of the Nazi government.
