An imminent settlement of the strike is expected. The conference started Saturday morning and continued for 15 hours without interruption.
At times the negotiations were on the verge of breaking up, according to the report in Monday’s “Forward,” which also declares that the employers have been forced to withdraw their demand that they be allowed to dismiss their employees, and that they have agreed to the formation of an Impartial Commission in the dress industry, similar to the one that exists in the cloak and suit industry.
Twenty thousand dress strikers participated in a demonstration yesterday in the garment center of New York.
