Secretary of Interior Oscar Chapman announced today that George M. Potter, a metallurgical engineer of the U.S. Bureau of Mines, is on his way to Tel Aviv to conduct a preliminary investigation to determine the feasibility of mineral resources development projects.
Mr. Potter, the first Interior Department export to go to Israel under the Point Four program, will study several minerals projects, including research on bituminous limestone, establishment of an are dressing laboratory, and development of the potash industry. Mr. Potter’s work will be financed jointly by the Technical Cooperation Administration, Department of State, and the Israel Government.
