An expedition of forty experts have been sent by the White Russian Land Commissariat to investigate the possibilities of Jewish colonization in the Bobruisk and Mozir district. The expedition’s purpose is to find land of about one million hectares suitable for the settlement mainly of White Russian declassed Jews.

The work of the commission is expected to be completed by the middle of November. It will concentrate its investigation specially in the neighborhood of the towns Orese, Ubortzi, Slovettzni.

M. Baran. secretary of the White Russian Comzet, who is now on a visit in Moscow, stated to the representative of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency here that the planned million hectares will probably be obtained by the government’s amelioration of the swamp lands, because there is no other free land available in White Russia.

It was reported here that a group of Jewish technicians in Palestine had written to the Ozet. the organization sponsoring the Bureya colonization project, asking for work in the new Jewish settlements. The letter states that they are willing to leave Palestine.
