THE FOREIGN PRESS ASSOCIATION OF BERLIN TONIGHT DECIDED TO INVESTIGATE THE CIRCUMSTANCES SURROUNDING THE ORDER EXPELLING PAUL RAVOUX, HEAD OF THE BERLIN BUREAU OF THE HAVAS NEWS AGENCY, FROM GERMANY, AFTER THE REICH GOVERNMENT, HEEDING DIPLOMATIC ACTION, GRANTED A FOUR-DAY EXTENSION TO THE ORIGINAL ORDER TO LEAVE WITHIN 72 HOURS.

MEANWHILE THE GERMAN PRESS ENERGETICALLY CONTINUED A UNANIMOUS CAMPAIGN OF ABUSE AGAINST RAVOUX AS A “POISONER OF NEWS SOURCES” FOR HIS ALLEGEDLY BIASED REPORTS, PARTICULARLY THAT LAST SATURDAY IN WHICH HE GAVE AN ACCOUNT OF THE HOOF-AND-MOUTH DISEASE CURRENTLY EPIDEMIC IN SEVERAL FARM DISTRICTS OF THE REICH.

THE STAY IN EXECUTION OF THE EXPULSION ORDER, WHICH HAD BEEN DELIVERED AT RAVOUX’S HOME YESTERDAY, WAS GRANTED AFTER FRENCH AMBASSADOR ANDRE FRANCOIS-PONCET HAD CALLED ON FOREIGN MINISTER CONSTANTIN VON NEURATH IN CONNECTION WITH THE ORDER.
