The weekly “Marocain,” which regularly publishes violent attacks on Moroccan Jewry, demanded today that the Moroccan Government proclaim sanctions against Moroccan Jewry.
The sanctions were demanded on grounds that Moroccan Jews obeyed a rabbinical directive proclaiming a special prayer for Russian Jewry during Yom Kippur, despite the fact that no prayer was recited for Russian Jews in the synagogues.
The weekly charged that the Government was “afraid of the Jews,” and urged the Government to “clear out” Jews from Government Ministries and the Moroccan Administration. It also called for a ban on Moroccan Jewish publications, and a ban on sale of the Paris Journal, Notre Parol.
