The integration of minority groups in American industry resulting from state and local Fair Employment Practices legislation has been “accomplished to the satisfaction of employers, workers and labor unions,” it was reported here yesterday in a Senate labor subcommittee report.
The report lists Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Washington, Minneapolis and Philadelphia as having “enforceable” F.E.P.C. laws and points out that more than two-thirds of the country’s Jewish population live in those states and cities. The report also says that 11 states and 25 municipalities have some form of F.E.P.C. legislation. The Senate subcommittee is headed by Sen. Herbert H. Humphrey of Minnesota.
