Rabbi Gustave F. Falk, formerly secretary of the southeastern conference of the Union of American #ebrew Congregations and region### director of the southeast district, has been appointed regional director of the northeast district to succeed the late Rabbi Jacob B. Pollak, who died on August 22.

Rabbi Falk, formerly of New Orleans, has been connected with the Union as regional director since his ordination from the Hebrew Union College in 1928.

While attending the college he was boys’ director of the Jewish Community House, and organized and was rabbi of the junior congregation at the Reading Road Temple.

For the past two years he had made arrangements with the Union to devote six months of active work in the field and to spend six months at the University of Chicago, where, in working toward his doctorate degree, he pursued courses in education and social service administration.

Mrs. Falk, formerly of Cincinnati, was graduated under the new plan in June, 1934, from the University of Chicago, where she continued post-graduate work in the School of Social Service Administration.
