The transfer of the Palestine mandate to an Arab state and an immediate stoppage of Jewish immigration is demanded in a petition of the recently formed League of Arab Nations which has just been delivered to President Truman and Prime Minister Churchill by the Egyptian ministers in Washington and London, Abdul Rahman Azzam Bey, secretary of the league, said today.
A congress of the league will be called by the premier of Egypt shortly after the conclusion of the San Francisco conference, it was disclosed by Azzam Bey, who is Minister for Arab Affairs in the Egyptian Government. He also revealed that the question of land purchases in Palestine will probably be discussed by the league’s financial and economic committee which will meet soon.
