The struggle against Nazism is not only the concern of Jews, organized labor or Catholics, but of every man, woman and child, declared Nathan Straus, co-chairman of the Appeal’s Greater New York campaign, in an address at the Jewish Center of Far Rockaway Sunday night. He also emphasized that Palestine should not be thought of as “a haven of refuge,” but as “a crucible of Jewish civilization of the future.”
Five hundred Jewish leaders of the Rockaways attended the dinner, which marked the opening of the local campaign. Harry J. Mos###itz, chairman of the Rockaway ###vision, presided.
