Three new scholarships to be awarded by the Louis Segal Cuitucal Foundation of the Farband Labor Zionist Order were announced here today by Meyer L. Brown, president of the order. Two of the scholarships will be awarded to students at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem while a third will be awarded to a deserving student at the Jewish Theological Seminary here.
The new stipends are part of the Farband’s program of encouraging studies in Hebrew, Yiddish and Jewish cultural subjects at leading institutions of higher learning. The Farband will award scholarships again this year to 20 students at the following colleges and universities: University of California, University of Cincinnati. Brandeis University, Brown University, Wayne State University, Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. Columbia University. City College of New York, Queens College. New York University, Hunter College and Brooklyn College.
