Rep. Leonard Farbstein, N.Y. Dem., said today that criticism by Ambassador Arthur J. Goldberg of Israeli settlement of areas liberated from Arab control was “unwise and unjustified.” In a speech on the House floor, the New Yorker, who is a member of the House Foreign Relations Committee, asserted that “all that Ambassador Goldberg does by his recent statements is to comfort the Arabs for not negotiating peace.”
Mr. Farbstein said he was “extremely disturbed by the turn that U.S. policy towards Israel has appeared to take in recent days.” He strongly deplored the renewal of American financial aid to Jordan.
