Dr. David Farbstein, well-known Jewish lawyer and a member of the Swiss parliament, has withdrawn his name as a candidate for the Swiss high court for which he stood a good chance of election. He has withdrawn because he does not desire to give up his legal and political connections which would be necessary as a member of the high court.
The vacancy occurred through the death of Camille Guggenheim, a Jewish member of the court. Farbstein is a brother of Heschel Farbstein, president of the Warsaw Jewish community.
