A farewell reception and luncheon for Israel’s outgoing Ambassador to the United Nations, Chaim Herzog, was given by the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith at its headquarters here today. Major figures of the U.S. media were among the guests.
Herzog, who will return to Israel in July after serving as UN envoy for three years, said that despite the difficulties Israel has encountered in the world organization, the last three years have been “fascinating and very interesting.” He said it was sad to see the UN being “perverted” by the Arab states and their allies in their fight against Israel. Herzog will address the special session of the General Assembly on disarmament tomorrow.
