Pleading for a strong organization of American Jews as a means of warring against possible growth of the Fascist movement here, Rabbi Stephen S. Wise, in an address before an installation meeting of the Jewish workers Alliance in the Arch Street Theatre, declared that the tragedy in Germany and the growth of the movement in England and other countries should serve as a warning to the Jewish citizenry of the United States.
Such organization, Rabbi Wise said, can be attained through the American Jewish Congress, of which he is the honorary president.
He asked that greater interst be shown in the forthcoming election of officers for the congress.
Other speakers included L. Segal, national secretary of the Congress, and Chaim Greenberg.
