TWO OF THE MOST AUTHORITATIVE FASCIST COMMENTATORS TONIGHT ACCUSED GREAT BRITAIN OF USING THE “ALIBI” OF ITALIAN PROPAGANDA IN PALESTINE TO AVOID REACHING A SETTLEMENT WITH ITALY, AND OF ATTEMPTING TO TEMPORIZE UNTIL THE BRITISH REARMAMENT PLAN IS COMPLETED. VIRGINIO GAYDA, IN GIORNALE D’ITALIA, AND MAURIZIO MARAVIGLIA, IN LA TRIBUNA, BOTH RETORTED SHARPLY TO STATEMENT MADE IN THE HOUSE OF COMMONS BY BRITISH FOREIGN SECRETARY ANTHONY EDEN TO THE EFFECT THAT RESUMED ITALIAN RADIO PROPAGANDA SENT TO THE HOLY LAND WAS PREVENTING FURTHER DISCUSSIONS OF A NEW ANGLO-ITALIAN AGREEMENT.
