Following yesterday’s Nazi march through the main part of the city in defiance of a Government order, Vienna Jewry fears a renewal of last night’s scenes, when windows in business houses and cafes were smashed by Nazi troops. Nazi emblems and leaflets calling for an anti-Jewish boycott strewed the streets of the city, which appeared to be wholly involved in the demonstration. Several Jewish pedestrians were mishandled.
Nazi ferocity has been particularly #tirred by the sentences on some of their followers, who have been con#icted on the charge of throwing tear bombs at a demonstration on the Sunday preceding last Christmas.
Realizing that they were yesterday outnumbered by the Nazis, the police are taking special measures for today.
