Fearing that a continuation of the anti-Semitic disturbances will seriously impair the credit of Roumania abroad, the Roumanian cabinet decided today, after a hectic seven hour session, to give Dr. Alexander Vayda Voevod, minister of the interior, a free hand to use any means at his command for the strictest and immediate suppression of the attacks on the Jews.
DECISION HAS TWO-FOLD PURPOSE
This decision has the two-fold purpose of trying to avoid any more outbreaks and to bolster the confidence of foreign financial circles in the government’s ability to prevent the country from drifting into a state approaching anarchy.
In addition to giving Dr. Vayda Voevod free rein, the local officers of the ministry of justice were instructed to give all possible assistance to the various administrative agencies in fighting
