National Young Judaea will observe the month of February as Young Judaea Month throughout the country. Five hundred clubs with a membership of 10,000 will endeavor to bring the program of Young Judaea to the attention of the general public for a better appreciation of its aims and ideals.
The National Office has released special programs on Young Judaea Month and Chamisho Osor B’Shevat; the latter festival will be observed Sunday, February 12. In conjunction with the Chamisho Osor B’Shevat programs, the Keren Hanoar project for the benefit of the Palestine Scouts will be introduced.
Young Judaea Month will be celebrated in New York City with a Jewish Musical Event on February 28, at Carnegie Hall. The Concert will be held jointly with Mailamm, an organization dedicated to the advancement of music in Palestine. Among the distinguished artists who will appear are Louis Gruenberg, composer of “Emperor Jones,” which had its premiere at the Metropolitan; Joseph Szigeti, internationally famous violinist; Miss Nina Koshetz, soprano; Ruth St. Denis, directing her Ballet in Palestine dances, and other nationally known artists in a repertoire of Jewish and Biblical Music.
