The Federal Communications Commission today opened hearings here on the application of George A. Richards, radio station owner accused of ordering his stations’ news broadcasts slanted in anti-Semitic fashion, for renewal of license of his three stations.
Two years ago several former employees of Station KMPC here, owned by Mr. Richards, charged that he had ordered news broadcasts written attacking Jews and the New Deal, Subsequently, the American Jewish Congress petitioned the F.C.C. not to renew the licenses of the stations owned by Mr. Richards. The other two are WJR in Detroit and WGAR in Cleveland.
