Ten persons were indicted here yesterday by a Federal Grand Jury for allegedly attempting to deliver warplanes to Israel by way of Czechoslovakia. They will be tried on Jan. 24 in the Federal District Court here.
Those indicted were charged with unlawfully conspiring to export three B-17s from Miami to Zatec, Czechoslovakia, on June 11. Chester Emerick, supervising customs agent, said one of the defendants attempted to fly another B-17 to Zatec from Westchester Airport, N.Y. but got no farther than the Azores. He also charged that four bombers recently seized by customs agents a Fort Lauderdale, Fla, were destined for use in the Palestine fighting.
