An appeal to the Reform movement to “pay primary attention” to the 300,000 Jewish college students in this country on the issue of the danger of intermarriage was voiced here by Rabbi Joel Y. Zion, of Lawrence, N. Y. He was one of the principal speakers at a meeting of the National Federation of Temple Brotherhoods here.
“Intermarriage among Jews.” he said, “is one of the fastest ways toward the destruction of Judaism,” “That trend,” he warned, is “the greatest single area of concern on the college campuses, where intermarriage has caused disinterest and lack of involvement in Jewish life.”
