A gift of $10,000 was made by Felix M. Warburg to the Jewish Education Association, which is conducting a campaign for $500,0000 for its work during the coming year in providing facilities for Jewish education.
In a letter accompanying his gift, Mr. Warburg siad: “It is wrong for parents to suppose that by providing their chidren with luxuries they are furnishing them with the principles of life which they need. Any effort to open more school-rooms in the instruction of religion, be it in the Reform or Orthodox Wing, ought to be encouraged in every possible way.”
The sixth annual dinner of the association will be held next Sunday at the Waldorf-Astoria, marking the conclusion of the $500,000 drive, of which Jonah J. Goldstein is chairman. Joseph Labeling is chairman of the dinner committee. The function will be in the nature of a Chanukah festival.
