M. Maldwin Fertig, former personal adviser to Governor Lehman and President Roosevelt, was elected president of the board of directors of the Young Men’s and Young Women’s Hebrew Association of the Bronx for the twentieth consecutive term. Israel Zinovoy was re-elected secretary, and Jacob L. Markel treasurer.
Plans for the year feature a six months celebration of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the founding of Bronx Y.M. and Y.W.H.A. Benjamin Sobol, philanthropist, who is identified with the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies, is chairman of the dinner committee. The newly elected officers of the “Y” will be inducted at the board of directors’ banquet to be held Sunday evening, March 25.
Other committee chairmen appointments include: David S. Mosesson, publicity; Maxwell H. Heller, budget; and Jacob Schuffro, social education.
