An exhibition portraying Israel’s achievements during the first ten years of statehood and forecasting trends for the coming decade will be opened here next June for three months.
Officials said the exhibit would be modeled after the “Festival of Britain” of 1951, with the basic similarity to be reflected in the fact that the exhibit will aim to show all aspects of the first decade of statehood, including the political, economic, immigration, labor security and cultural phases.
The exhibition will cover more than three acres and will involve a budget of 1,500,000 Israeli pounds. The Jerusalem Municipality has planned a number of promotional efforts for the exhibit which will be closed Saturdays in deference to Orthodox opinion.
