The biggest hospital in the Negev, a project of the Kupat Holim, the medical welfare program of the Histadrut, was dedicated today in festive ceremonies. Participants included David Dubinsky, president of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, which contributed $1,000,000 to build and equip the 300-bed hospital.
The guests also included Mrs. Golda Meir, Israel’s Foreign Minister, Israel Barzilai, Minister of Health, officials of the Beersheba Municipality and others. Speakers hailed the work of Kupat Holim and expressed satisfaction at the fact that American workers were helping to advance medical treatment for Israelis.
