The Jewish Labor Committee today announced that fifty-seven members of the U.S. Congress have so far endorsed the unanimous decision taken at the American Federation of Labor convention earlier this month urging the admission of displaced persons from Europe on immigration quotas which were not used during the war.
The Committee, which polled Senators and Congressmen on their opinion of the A.F.L. decision, issued a call to Jewish communities and organizations throughout the country urging them to communicate with their Congressional representatives and clarify their attitude towards the question of admitting displaced persons to the United States, over and above the present quota which President Truman has indicated he will ask of Congress.
