Fighting erupted in the West Bank town of Ramallah between members of Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat’s mainstream Fatah movement and Palestinian security forces. The clash, in which a Palestinian youth was shot in the head and seriously wounded, alarmed Palestinian officials, who fear that Palestinian compliance with the security aspects of the latest accord with Israel will lead to Palestinian-on-Palestinian violence.
