There is only one legal “Union of Rumanian Jews” and William Filderman, former president of the Union, has no authority to speak for it, the Bucharest radio said today. This is the latest development in the battle raging in the press and radio between Filderman and M.A. Sarabeanu new president of the Union.
The broadcast pointed out that Sarabeanu was elected president of the Union at a conference held on Jan. 28-29, attended by 109 legally elected delegates. At that meeting, the radio said, the delegates unanimously voted to oust Filderman from the organization.
