Plans to produce a film on the Dead Sea Scrolls, based on the authoritative study of Dr. Millar Burrows, noted American archaeologist, were disclosed today by John Sutherland, writer and producer of entertainment and industrial motion pictures.
Mr. Sutherland said he would use animation to re-create the pre-Biblical periods in which the Scrolls were written. Filming will be done in Jordan and at the Sutherland studies in Hollywood, starting in January. The producer estimated the cost of the picture at $1, 000, 000 and said it would take a year to complete.
