The finance committee of the Zionist Actions Committee, policy-making body of the world Zionist movement between congresses, approved today a 211,700,000 pound budget for the Jewish Agency for the new fiscal year.
The finance committee approved the following departmental budgets included within the overall document: absorption department, 7,500,000 pounds; immigrant housing, 15,000,000; youth immigration, 10,700,000; cultural and educational activities in countries outside Israel, 11,500,000; middle class absorption under the aegis of the economic department, 1,250,000, and Keren Hayesod expenditures, 1,250,000.
The Agency is committed to an expenditure of 42,000,000 pounds for debt repayment this year. The finance committee will continue, at its next meeting, a debate on a proposed settlement budget of 80,000,000 pounds.
