The Finance and Economic Council will be constituted at an early date, according to a decision taken at a recent meeting of the Palestine Zionist Executive.
The Executive, has, in consonance with the decision of the last meeting of the General Council, appointed its representatives upon the Council. The Palestine Zionist Executive members are the directors of the Departments of Agricultural Colonization, of Urban Colonization, of Labor, and the Treasurer, the other members of the Council being one representative each of the Keren Hayesod, the Jewish National Fund, the Anglo-Palestine Bank and the Loan Committee.
The Finance and Economic Council will elect its chairman in agreement with the Palestine Zionist Executive. No successor has as yet been proposed to Dr. Arlosoroff, who has been appointed business manager but was unable to accept the office.
A new Board has been constituted for the General Mortgage Bank of Palestine founded by the Keren Hayesod, under an agreement reached between the Palestine Zionist Executive, the Keren Hayesod, the Zionist Organization of America, and the Jewish Colonial Trust.
The members of the Committee representing the Keren Hayesod are Dr. A. Hantke, J. Kaplansky, M. Dizengoff, and Aleinikoff; representing the Palestine Zionist Executive. J. Rosoff. Harry Sacher, A. Van Vriesland and Z. Hoofien; representing the Zionist Organization of America and the Palestine Securities, Incorporated, Emanuel Neumann and three others still to be named. Dr. Hantke has been elected chairman of the Board.
