A Financial Commission headed by Sir Samuel Perry O’Donnell, former Secretary to the Government of India, arrived here to-day.

The Commission is instructed to investigate the efficiency of the Palestine Administration and the effect of the introduction of economies, the J.T.A. is informed on enquiry at the Colonial Office. The Colonial Office was unable to state whether the Commission would also enquire into the possibilities of the proposed Palestine Development Scheme. This is understood to be possible, however, in view of the forthcoming debate in the House of Commons on the proposed 2½million pounds loan for Palestine development announced in connection with the Palestine White Paper. An official statement on the scope of the Commission’s work may be issued in the near future, the J.T.A. learns.
