Finland Permits Transfer of Jewish Community Valuables to Sweden

The Jewish communities in Finland have obtained permission from the Finnish Government to transfer Torahs and other valuable community property to Sweden for safe-keeping until after the war, it was reported here today.

The Stockholm newspaper Social Demokraten reports today that Social Democratic publications in Finland have criticized the treatment of Jewish refugees by the Finnish State Police. A delegation of Socialist deputies saw the Minister of the Interior to whom they voiced their displeasure at the failure of the government to curb the police.
