Finland’s foreign minister invited his Israeli counterpart, David Levy, to address the E.U. Council of Foreign Ministers at the beginning of September. During Monday’s meeting with Tarja Halonen, whose country currently holds the rotating E.U. presidency, Levy discussed the role of the European Union in the Middle East peace process. “It cannot be that every time there is a disagreement” between Israel and the Palestinian Authority “it will be discussed in international forums,” Levy said.
